![]() ![]() There is also an aquarium and if you want to take the train downtown you have to walk. This is an amazing place located near the koi carp pond which attracts lots of people, and also not far from The Landry where we ate earlier. After one taste, I did not eat anymore of the rice, The sweet potatoes were good, not overly sweet. It tasted as if it was overcooked and left sitting in water. By the time I was served my pork steak I was actually given broken pieces of meat and not a whole pork steak, Being one that do not like to make a scene, I just took what I was served because I knew that it was doubtful that I would be making a trip back. The serving of cabbage was small and I thought the cabbage was slightly overcooked, The mac and cheese was good, The carry out meal, pork steak with sweet potatoes and rice was a little different, First of all the server asked numerous times for more pork steaks. The sides, cabbage and mac and cheese was okay. The catfish fillets were a really good size and were fried well, They were a little salty to both of us, but overall, I thought it was good. It was not our plan to order the same thing but it was what we found to be appealing to us. Once again my opinion on the pricing is based on other popular soul food restaurants I have visited, My friend and I both ordered the catfish fillets to eat there and we both ordered the pork steak meal to go. Side dishes and desserts were about $3.60 each for a serving size of about 1/2 cup, In my opinion the chicken and the sides are over priced, The dessert pricing is on point-just slightly higher. Three wings and two sides is about $11.50. The chicken wings seemed to be very popular. A person would have to be out of their mind to pay $11.50 for neck bones or liver! These are both extremely cheap cuts of meat and should be offered at a much cheaper price. In comparison to other soul food restaurants I have visited, I found Sweetie Pies to be over-priced. The first thing I noticed was that the prices were $1-$2 higher than they were on the website. We were very pleased upon our arrival at 2:00p on a Saturday that the line was not outside of the door although it was at the door, It took us about 20 minutes to get to the food counter, When you arrive at the food counter you need to be ready to make your selection in order to keep the line moving. A friend and I decided to take the ride and experience what everyone was taking about. After seeing it on television I was curious and wanted to experience the restaurant for myself. I made a special trip 4-1/2 hour drive to Sweetie Pies-Upper Crust. Robbies that helped her get that house near her sister. But shr should be grestful after all isn't are money and Ms. Maybe she's mad that she's still just worken for her sister. I think Ms.Robbie should find some one who appreciates the business. And told our waiter but they said she's just like that. My family from st.louis were so affended of her behavior. She wslked around and past us many times and egnored us completely. I walked over to her and let her know how happy I was to meet her and would love a picture with her when she had a minute. We finally got to the line and order our food. They have a place for a hostes but no one was there. We came in with no one to greet us and direct us to seat are selves or really what to do. ![]() The food was good but it is geting that commercial feel instead of home cooken or the family soul food spot in your neighborhood. My favorites are charles and Ms.Robbie ,but I enjoy them all.But I must say me and my family were disappointed with are visit. I have visited st.louis many times but never ate at sweetie pies. ![]()
